Donor Spotlight: Emma Pickett on the Power of Philanthropy
Emma Pickett and her family foundation, the Verrill Foundation, are committed to funding organizations who support the welfare of children and families. Emma first learned about Judi’s House earlier this spring, after an introduction from Valerie’s House, a grief center in Florida who the Verrill Foundation has partnered with in the past. After touring our home and learning more about Judi’s House/JAG Institute’s mission and vision, Emma knew she wanted to get involved and join our Judi’s House family.
“I was immediately impressed with not only the direct work [Judi’s House] does with families in the neighborhood, but also the research and aid they give to local schools and organizations on a national level… I believe that the work they do for [grieving families] is phenomenal and extremely important for children, parents and caregivers,” says Emma. “[My family] was overwhelmed with the amount of help that this organization has provided and is excited to be a part of seeing what else can be accomplished by this community.”
Emma tells us that she has witnessed first hand the power philanthropy has to change the world through her work with the Verrill Foundation.
“I fully believe in the positive impact that non-profit organizations have on individuals, communities, and on a global level,” says Emma. “I am grateful to be a small part of these developmental changes that occur in real-time, and hopefully for generations to come.”
