Children’s Grief Awareness Month – A Virtual Success
November 19, 2020
November honors the hardships many families face when it comes to love and loss through the recognition of Worldwide Bereaved Siblings Month, Family Caregivers Month, and Children’s Grief Awareness Month.
Children’s Grief Awareness Month is an important month for many organizations working with grieving children, caregivers, and families. We were honored to partner with organizations across the country to raise awareness for grieving youth through conversation, song, and storytelling:
- #GriefTalk LIVE – Judi’s House Director of Programs Alex Mers, LPC sat down with National Alliance for Grieving Children CEO, Vicki Jay, to discuss the impact of our Childhood Bereavement Estimation Model. Watch the recording of their conversation.
- Children’s Grief Awareness Day Virtual Event – Hosted by our friends at Highmark Caring Place, we debuted the “Coping Pillows” song during the inaugural Children’s Grief Awareness Day Virtual Event. View a recap of the day’s events.
- Media Coverage – Co-Founder, Brian Griese, had various media appearances including a feature on the Los Angeles-based podcast, Life of Dad, segments on ABC News Los Angeles and ABC Digital News, and sports-radio interviews on WTMJ Milwaukee and KOA NewsRadio in Denver.
These and many other activities were included in our interactive Children’s Grief Awareness Month Calendar.
