An Evening of Connection and Community at Happy Hour in the Garden

This August, Judi’s House/JAG Institute welcomed friends, neighbors, and supporters to our home in Aurora, CO, for an evening of connection and community at our annual Happy Hour in the Garden event.

Our garden came alive with music, laughter, and conversation as guests enjoyed food, drinks, children’s activities, and the chance to win exciting prizes donated by our generous sponsors and local businesses. Families, longtime supporters, and new neighbors joined together, making this summer evening one to remember.

We were honored to hear inspiring remarks from our CEO, Micki Burns, PhD, along with founders Brian and Brooke Griese, who shared their reflections on the mission and impact of Judi’s House. Their words underscored the heart of the evening: building community while providing hope and healing to children and caregivers grieving a death.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our attendees and sponsors—led by our Presenting Sponsor, Alpine Bank—the event raised over $21,000 to support Judi’s House in providing Comprehensive Grief Care® at no cost to families in need.

Happy Hour in the Garden was more than just a celebration; it was a meaningful gathering that highlighted the importance of compassion, connection, and community support.
