Announcement from Co-Founder and CEO, Brook Griese, PhD
November 29, 2018
Dear Friends and Supporters,
I am excited to share with you my decision to transition my role at Judi’s House in the new year from CEO to serving on the Board of Directors.
It has always been my intention to hand off to the next leader when the time is right. I have been honored to lead this incredible team for the past seven years while balancing my other roles as co-founder and clinical psychologist. At this point in our development—having grown substantially in size, reach, and impact both locally and nationally—I’m eager for us to find an established executive to lead the organization into the future.
Our Leadership Team and Board of Directors have been working actively on our vision for long-term sustainability and access to our vital services in perpetuity. It is important that I take the time currently tied up in day-to-day operations to focus more on these big-picture, future-oriented efforts—in the spirit of “highest best use” of time and energy.
I’m also excited to focus more on the creative and clinical aspects of my work than I have had time to do in this executive role. In addition to continuing to contribute to our core initiatives, I look forward to writing and illustrating children’s books for families who are grieving and returning to clinical practice. I’m eager to have more time to enjoy and nurture my own family, too—particularly as our children quickly approach that critical milestone of adolescence.I will remain in the CEO role until the new leader is in place, and I look forward to supporting their integration into our talented team. The Board has formed an Executive Search Committee to find a well-qualified and seasoned leader. Information about the position and attributes sought in a successful candidate can be found here. Please share this opportunity with anyone you feel might be a great addition to our Judi’s House team.
Happy Holidays and thank you for your support and friendship!
With gratitude,
Brook
