MLB & Rockies All-Star Legacy Children’s Room

Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Colorado Rockies donate $250,000 to Judi’s House during the 2021 All-Star Weekend.

DENVER, Colo. | July 9, 2021

Excitement from the 2021 MLB All-Star Game in Denver made a stop at Judi’s House in July. Annually, since 1997, the All-Star Legacy Program makes significant donations to charitable organizations and other community causes tied to MLB within the game’s host city.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and Colorado Rockies Owner Dick Monfort presented a $250,000 check to Judi’s House, naming the MLB & Rockies All-Star Legacy Children’s Room in our new 26,000 sq. ft. purpose-built home which is currently under construction in Aurora.

Judi’s House Co-Founder Brian Griese expressed gratitude for their support:

“The Colorado Rockies have been wonderful partners of Judi’s House for many, many years. Our relationship with them has grown from players being involved, to the Monfort Family who has been so supportive to of our work in this community … This [gift] is another example of that support. It’s wonderful to develop the relationship with Major League Baseball and we’re excited about growing that in the future.”

The dedicated room is one of five children’s therapy rooms devoted to fostering connection and healing among youth participating in group grief counseling after suffering the loss of someone special.

Commissioner Manfred praised the work of Judi’s House as he and Monfort toured our current facility on Gaylord Street in Denver’s City Park West neighborhood:

“There are great programs in every community, and this was one that was absolutely a standout, and we’re just pleased to be associated with it.”

We are thrilled and thankful to be one of many Denver nonprofits, city recreation areas, and charitable organizations who received part of roughly $5M All-Star Legacy gifts donated in 2021. This partnership is a home run for our organization, our steadfast community of supporters, and our families.
