We Are All Connected: Staff Spotlights
December 28, 2022
Meet our Community-Based Care Grief Counselors, Dayna and Katherine!
“I love being able to bring the beauty of Judi’s House into the school system and support students in finding connection, healing, and hope. In these spaces, we are afforded the opportunity to have brave and vulnerable conversations that are often difficult to have. I am grateful to be part of each student’s grief journey this way.”
Dayna Streufert began her work with Judi’s House in 2016 as an intern while she was studying to earn her master’s in social work from MSU Denver. After her internship, she became a postgraduate trainee on the Community-Based Care Team where she fell in love with bringing the impact of our work into the school system. Dayna re-joined our team in August of 2022 as a Grief Counselor working once again on our Community-Based Care Team where she helps facilitate school-based Pathfinders groups in addition to programming designed to enhance grief-sensitive classrooms. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2-year-old son while hiking, biking, and exploring the outdoors. She also loves crafting, music, and reading.
“I love being part of a team that mobilizes Pathfinders to help eliminate barriers that prevent kids and families from accessing our services.”
Katherine Prok began her time with Judi’s House in 2019 with her clinical internship. After her internship, she stayed on as a postgraduate trainee on the Community-Based Care Team, which provides Pathfinders programming in Denver Metro middle schools. In August of this year, Katherine was hired as a Grief Counselor on our Community-Based Care Team where she continues to provide care to children in schools and educational workshops throughout our community. In her free time, Katherine enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, running, doing yoga, and reading.
