We Are All Connected: MacKenzie Hardt & Hardt Family Cylcery
December 2, 2022
Mackenzie Hardt is the owner and operator of Hardt Family Cyclery located right next door to our new home in Aurora. Hardt Family Cyclery specializes in selling bikes designed to get more families out of the car and able to get around by bike. Mackenzie and Hardt Family Cyclery are new members of the Judi’s House volunteer community and have quickly gotten involved to help make a positive impact on the children and families we serve.
How did you first learn about Judi’s House?
I learned about Judi’s House when I heard they were moving in across the street. I was very excited to meet my new neighbors and learn more about their work. As my customers asked what the construction across the street was going to be, I would tell them it’s Judi’s House’s new location, and before I could explain what Judi’s House is, they would start telling me amazing stories about the organization and all the amazing work they do. I quickly learned that most of my customers had already heard of Judi’s House and a lot of them knew someone that had received their services.
What does it mean to you to have Judi’s House in your community and as a neighbor?
I am thrilled to have Judi’s House in my community and as a neighbor. The work they do is invaluable and life changing. I feel so lucky to have these resources so readily available to my family, friends, and neighbors. This also provides my family the opportunity to be involved with such a great group of people while supporting our neighbors. We have already had the opportunity to serve a couple meals, and I would like to find more ways to support the Judi’s House mission while promoting the mental health benefits that riding a bike can provide.
What do you feel is the most important component of the work we do at Judi’s House?
I believe the most important component of the work Judi’s House does is validating children’s feelings and emotions while supporting them as they navigate their own grief process.
