Judi’s House Announces Appointment of New CEO

February 27, 2019

Jessica Maitland Mayo has been named chief executive officer of Judi’s House / JAG Institute based in Denver, Colorado. She succeeds the nonprofit bereavement center’s co-founder, Brook Griese, PhD, who has served as the chief executive for seven years after contributing many years directing the organization’s research and program development. Dr. Griese looks forward to partnering with Maitland Mayo as a board member and volunteer.

Maitland Mayo most recently served as vice president, marketing and community operations of Bonfils Blood Center, now Vitalant. She was a critical member of the senior management team since 2000, including executive oversight of the Bonfils Blood Center Foundation. More than $50 million in annual revenue was generated during her tenure.

Brian Griese, Judi’s House co-founder and chairman of the Board of Directors, said Maitland Mayo “brings decades of experience leading teams focused on shared goals to achieve a critical mission for our community, and that is why we feel she is exactly the right person to lead us into our next chapter.”

Maitland Mayo, a graduate of the Denver Metro Chamber’s Leadership Denver and past president of the Donor Awareness Council, received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Arizona State University.

“It is my deep honor to step into this leadership role with one of our community’s most essential and respected organizations. I am delighted to be joining at a time when Judi’s House is poised for greater growth, long term sustainability and the continual refinement and delivery of its truly life-altering mission,” said Maitland Mayo. “My heart, talents and experiences could not be more aligned with this transformative work.”
