Measuring the Impact of a Family-Based Group Therapy Program Through a Randomized Control Trial

Monday, June 15th | 3:30 – 5:00PM

This presentation will explore Pathfinders, a ten‑session, multi‑family grief program for bereaved children and caregivers, and share early findings from a rigorous randomized controlled trial evaluation. Presenters will discuss how the program is designed to support grief, anxiety, depression, and coping across developmental stages and causes of death, while maintaining ethical access to services through a waitlist research model. Attendees will gain insight into the rationale behind the study design, key implementation lessons, and what the preliminary results suggest for strengthening grief‑responsive clinical practice, program evaluation, and systems‑level support for bereaved families.
