Our annual Strength in the Face of Adversity Luncheon celebrates the incredible work being done by Judi’s House/ JAG Institute in support of grieving children and families. We are grateful to our friends and partners for making our work possible year over year.

Continued financial support is vital to advancing our Comprehensive Grief Care® to children and families in need. We routinely raise over $700,000 through sponsorships and day-of donations. These gifts make it possible for as many as 375 children and 120 families to benefit from our Pathfinders grief counseling program.

One Team in Supporting Grieving Families

Broncos and Chiefs may clash on game day, but when it comes to supporting grieving children and families, we’re all on the same team.

This year’s luncheon brings together two passionate fan bases under one powerful message: #GriefKnowsNoTeam. Whether you bleed orange or red, your support helps provide free, compassionate care to families navigating loss.

We are thrilled to welcome Kansas City Chiefs defensive standout and two-time Super Bowl champion Trent McDuffie as our featured speaker. His presence on the field is fierce. Off the field, his heart for the community shines just as bright. Trent will share how the death of his brother impacted his life and why he believes in standing united for those facing grief.

Trent’s journey is one of resilience, faith, and love in the face of profound loss. In eighth grade, his world was forever changed by the unexpected death of his brother, Tyler—a devastating moment that could have left him broken. Instead, through immense grief, Trent found strength in his faith, deeper appreciation for family, and the guiding force behind his mantra: “Power 2 Overcome.”

With the unwavering support of family and friends, he came to realize that healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means honoring the love that remains and carrying that legacy forward. Trent’s story is a powerful reminder that even in life’s darkest moments, hope can be reignited.

Through the T22 McDuffie Foundation, he extends his journey to others, offering a beacon of light and support for those navigating grief and mental health challenges. By sharing his experiences, Trent empowers others to transform their pain into purpose—proving that healing is not only possible but can lead to greater strength, deeper connections, and a renewed sense of purpose.
