Mindfulness Scavenger hunt – FAMILY ACTIVITY

When life feels big and overwhelming, it can be easy to feel swept up by what-if’s and stress of the future. Mindfulness is a helping coping skill that has been proven to lower stress levels, as well as several other physical and emotional health benefits.

As a family, practice mindfulness by going on a mindfulness scavenger hunt. Together, fill a bag using your five senses. Challenge each member of the family to find one item they can see, smell, hear, taste, and feel that brings them a sense of calm or comfort.

mindfulness playlist – YOUTH ACTIVITY ages 11 – 18

Mindfulness is a coping skill that can help us pay attention to the present
moment on purpose and can benefit both our physical and emotional
health. Practice mindfulness through creating a Mindfulness Playlist. This
playlist can include songs that soothe and comfort you, help you relax and
find contentment, and songs that spark feelings of joy. Once your play list is
complete, close your eyes and listen to the songs that you added. Notice
what feelings come up with each song and how your body responds. If your
mind wanders during the activity, practice taking deep breaths and coming
back to the present moment.

mindfulness bingo – Youth activity ages 3 – 11

Mindfulness is practicing being in the here and now, noticing how you feel in the moment. Find sparks of joy in your day through playing a game
on Mindfulness Bingo. As you play notice how your body and mind feel. If
your mind wanders during the activity, practice taking deep breaths and
coming back to the here and now.
