Wish Upon a Star – Family Activity

Supplies Needed:

The New Year is approaching! Reflecting on the past year and setting goals for the year ahead can be helpful. Using construction paper, cut out stars. On each star, family members can write a wish they have for the new year. Hang it in a place where you can revisit your goals/wishes as a family.

Bath snowballs & shapes – Youth activity ages 8-18

Supplies Needed:

When the weather gets cold, it can be helpful to have lots of coping skills we can practice indoors. Making bath snowballs is one way we can take care of ourselves and stay warm!

Combine Epsom Salt, water, food coloring, and essential oils and firm into a ball. Place it in a spherical /circle mold or into cookie cutters and let sit overnight. The next morning, remove the mold and allow to dry for 2 days.

Throw it in the tub next time you’re taking a bath!

Gratitude game – youth activity ages 3-12

Supplies Needed:

Finding things we are grateful for during the holidays can help our grieving hearts. Each person gets a packet of M&M’s. Go around in a circle and have each person choose an M&M out of their bag. Depending on the color, respond accordingly with something you are grateful for.
