CBEM Race & Ethnicity Data Tables
Our CBEM data tables provide a reference for exploring childhood bereavement rates across race and ethnic categories at the national and state level. The tables display each state’s CBEM Race & Ethnicity results by ages 18 and 25 for each of the four (4) race categories and two (2) ethnic categories including leading causes of death for youth and adults.
The CBEM generates two distinct estimates:
- Projected CBEM prevalence rates reflect the number and percent of youth who will experience the death of a parent or sibling. Projected results help prepare for future demands of services, grief resources, a qualified workforce, and advocacy efforts.
- Current CBEM prevalence rates reflect the number and percent of youth who have already experienced the death of a parent or sibling. Current results support resource allocation and development efforts now.
CBEM Race & Ethnicity Reports feature projected results. Current prevalence rates are only available in the data tables.
