Healing Together: A Panel Event from Judi’s House/JAG Institute
Thank you to all who joined us for our Healing Together panel event on November 14! We hope you enjoyed the conversation and were able to gain a nuanced understanding of the critical public health issue of childhood bereavement as it relates to the issues of suicide, drug overdose, gun violence, and COVID-19.

2023 Strength in the Face of Adversity Luncheon
The sixth annual Strength in the Face of Adversity Luncheon, held at the Seawell Grand Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts on September 29, 2023, featured special remarks from Denver Mayor, Mike Johnston; a series of video conversations between Judi’s House Co-Founder, Brian Griese and winningest alpine skier of all time, Mikaela Shiffrin; and a moving interview between Judi’s House Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Micki Burns and former Judi’s House family.

Happy Hour in the Garden – 2023
On June 2, 2023 we hosted our first Happy Hour in the Garden at our new home at the crossroads of Denver and Aurora. We are so happy to be able to celebrate this first ever SOLD OUT event in our beautiful backyard. Thank you to all who came and enjoyed an evening of connection complete with food, drinks, and live music.
20th Anniversary Gala
As part of Children’s Grief Awareness Month, we hosted a Gala on November 3 to honor our past, cherish our present, and envision our future in support of youth and caregivers grieving the loss of someone special. We celebrated the past 20 years, our staff, volunteers, donors, and community members that have helped us journey side-by-side grieving children and families.
Happy Hour in the Garden – 2022
On June 10, we had a wonderful time in the Judi’s House garden as we said a ‘healthy goodbye’ to our Gaylord Street homes. Thank you to everyone who came and donated in support of our mission and vision. This annual event raised over $8,000 for grieving children and families. We look forward to hosting this event next year in our new Aurora home.
Judi’s House Mini Golf Classic
Our first-ever Judi’s House Mini Golf Classic on Saturday, August 28, 2021 was a huge success! Thanks to our event sponsors, 250 registered golfers, and community partners this event raised more than $44,000 to support our mission. On behalf of everyone at Judi’s House/JAG Institute we’d like to give special thanks to our event sponsors, amazing food vendors In the Doghouse Hot Dogs and Sweet Cow Ice Cream, and everyone at Colorado Journey Miniature Golf for hosting us.
We had so much fun putting our way through some of Colorado’s iconic attractions and landmarks and testing everyone’s hole-in-one skills for prizes! This may just become an annual summer tradition.
Super Saturday Bowl Bash
Joined by special guest, NFL Hall of Famer, Charles Woodson, we got a sneak peek into Super Bowl LV, shared stories from our Judi’s House community, and honored our 2021 Healing Hand Award Honorees, The Betts Family. With support of a growing coast-to-coast Judi’s House/JAG Institute family, we raised nearly $440,000 to support grieving children and families that will help 60 families and 90 children find connection that leads to healing after the death of a special person.

Virtual Tailgate
Thanks to our amazing community of Judi’s House fans, friends, and partners our first-ever Virtual Tailgate, held Aug. 12, 2020, was a huge success raising nearly $134,000 in support of grieving children and families. In lieu of our in-person Happy Hour in the Garden event, attendees enjoyed tailgate food and drink from 10 Barrel Brewing Company Denver, a live Q&A with former Judi’s House clients Bria and Deneen Stone, a special halftime show performance by the Freddy Jones Band, and a chat about all things football with special guest and Monday Night Football Analysts Steve Levy. A true touchdown for Judi’s House!

#UnitedinGrief Candelight Tribute
Grief waits for no one. On May 15, 2020, at the height of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, people across the country came together to shine a light on those grieving. In partnership with the National Alliance for Grieving Children (NAGC), this event offered those grieving a chance to honor the memory of their special person by coloring a candle in honor of someone they have lost and sharing their story through our national #UnitedinGrief social campaign.
This video captures some of the beautiful tributes from the day. We look forward to continuing this tradition with NAGC.
